Disaster Planning
Disaster can strike quickly and without warning. It can force you to evacuate your neighborhood or confine you to your home. What would you do if basic services--water, gas, electricity or telephones--were cut off?

Families can cope with disaster by preparing in advance so that everyone knows what to do in an emergency.
  • Find out what type of disasters can occur in your area.

  • Create a family disaster plan. Practice the plan at least once a year.

  • Keep a Disaster Supplies Kit on hand

  • Have a “Go Bag” ready in case you have to evacuate.
